Who We Are...
Two mothers, Melanie Paulk and Fiona Sawers, created ChildFriendlyTravel.com to fill a much-needed gap in the child friendly travel market.
Between us, we have five children and have visited or lived in many different countries. Our knowledge is extensive and includes the US, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, as well as, Europe. Like you, when researching a holiday to take with the family, we searched the web for 'child friendly accommodation' and it was never very inspiring. The next best thing we found in finding a holiday to suit our families' needs was personal recommendation, which is invaluable.
'Child friendly' can vary greatly from place to place and what may be child friendly for one may not be the case for another. This difference can range from a hotel dining room equipped with a highchair to a hotel having a bedroom which has a changing mat, a stool to help the children actually reach the sink and a mini-bar that has plenty of room to store all the basics. A villa may also proclaim to be ‘child friendly’ but one equipped with large boxes of toys, children's books and outside play equipment is far more appealing than the villa that has no open stairs and therefore proudly announces itself as ‘child friendly’! Although, a lot of this information can only be gleaned from personal visits and this is where your feedback is vital and invaluable to all of our CFT members and to us.
